Ohio Congressional Election 2020 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
I support raising taxes on the wealthy elite that have not paid their fair share in decades.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
We should change our campaign finance laws to mandate equal public funding of all elections
Unknown Position Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
I think we should be investing in improving the lives of Americans through Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and infrastructure investments. America already spends more on their military budget than the next 7 countries combined.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Unknown Position Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
I believe that our economy should grow from the middle out, not the top down.
Yes Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I believe that we need invest into a Green New Deal that will not only address climate change but create economic opportunity throughout our nation
Yes Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Nobody needs a weapon of war. There are legitimate sporting and defense reasons for gun ownership but we cannot stand ideally by while our children are living with the very real fear that they will be gunned down in their school hallways.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Yes Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
No. Millions of Americans, my mother included, who have pre-existing condtions were able to get individualized insurance plans for the first time ever. We must expand the work that President Obama and Democrats did in 2010 by passing a Medicare for All solution.
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
No Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
Yes Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
Yes Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
We need to ensure that we're negotiating equitable trade deals that also take into consideration environmental standards.
The Affordable Care Act improved the lives millions of Americans, but we can?t stop there. No one in this country should go bankrupt because they can?t afford basic care. Medicare for All will allow us to offer full vision, dental, and mental health benefits to every American. Second, the Climate Crisis is real. This is a global issue that will affect Billions of people world-wide, and we need to ensure that we are leading the charge for environmental justice. We will never be able to solve the issues plaguing our community unless we remove money's influence in our political system.
